about

Luke, Michelle, Carson, & Amaleah Goetz

Goetz Hosta Farm held its grand opening in the spring of 2004.  Our love for hostas began three years ago when my husband, Luke, and I married.  Inspired by my mother-in-law and her amazingly beautiful hosta gardens, the simple plants captured our attention.  Soon after remodeling our 100 year old farmhouse in Washington Township, we excitedly began to beautify the land around our home.  We started with only a simple hosta garden on the south side of our deck.  Our small garden began to grow as we discovered many different varieties of hostas.  Because hostas are nearly effortless to care for they fit right into our busy lifestyle.  Soon we found ourselves expanding our garden to stretch around our house into our backyard.   Hostas truly are amazing plants.  There are so many varieties of hostas; all are uniquely colored and shaped.  Hostas make up over 90% of our landscaping.  The wonderful plants add striking appeal to our old home.  Our hostas quickly became our hobby, and our hobby quickly began to grow into what is now our small business.

We currently have two large greenhouses and several different hosta show gardens.  Our newest project is transforming a 110-year old cobblestone barn foundation and silo into a huge tour area.  This project is fun and exciting not only for ourselves; but also for neighbors and people who are constantly stopping, visiting, and enjoying the restoration of a historical site that exists on our property.  We enjoy our work and look forward to the completion of our newest show garden.

We have over 500 varieties of hostas for sale, most of which cannot be found in other nurseries or retail stores.  Hostas are our main attraction.  However, since the spring of 2006 we have expanded to offer our customers other landscape plants including trees, bushes, and perennials.  All our plant stock can be viewed and purchased from our business location in a new nursery area south of our greenhouses.  We also sell dependable Wyckoff Hybrids lawn seed and fertilizers, ornamental grasses, and other seasonal items such as sweet corn.  As we excitedly begin another season of growing, we look forward to meeting you and supplying you with great plants!
